Network Neutrality

Save the Net Now

In the greater scheme of things this isn't an important blog. Considering a bigger world view—genocide, pandemics, natural disaster, global warming, human rights violations, and so on—thoughts on music and technology can seem a bit, well, superfluous.

But part of what makes the Internet such an interesting place is that you can discuss topics like music and technology. This isn't a medium defined by advertising revenue. Topics aren't decided by popular interest, political bias, or security threat level. All stories are published regardless of their importance in the bigger picture of our world. Somewhere, someone is listening, reading, or watching and small, individual voices make their contribution to the cultural fabric of the Internet.

Moves by the US Congress to dismantle Network Neutrality, and grant control of the Internet to moneyed individuals and corporations, threaten to undo freedom of expression and the empowerment of individual voices. Please contact your Congressional Representative and Senators and tell them to fight to preserve Network Neutrality.
